Hello, my name is Robert Beltrami. I have been an educator for about 10 years now. I started teaching in Southern California and 6 years ago moved to Northern California. This is my 6th year teaching at Del Oro High School and my 4th year at Sierra College. I have taught courses ranging from Beginning and Intermediate Algebra up to Vector Calculus and Statistics. When I'm not teaching, I love to be outdoors. Hiking and rock climbing are 2 of my favorite activities. I also spend time working on cars. I'm currently working on a 1969 Chevy C10 and a 1975 International Scout II.
I was a student at Sierra College until 2000, after which I transferred to UCSD to earn my bachelor's degree. After doing some actuarial work for a couple years, I went back to school to get a teaching credential and master's degree from Sac State. I returned to Sierra College as an instructor in 2012.
When I'm not teaching, I can usually be found playing with my two kids, camping, or nerding out on the computer. If you're looking for me, just follow the smell of coffee.
Education/Achievement/Certification:
I am here to teach you the theories and techniques to solve practical problems. I can show you how fun Mathematics is if you are willing to learn new things.
Hi, I have been teaching full-time at Sierra College for 22 years. I was previously at American River College for 23 years where I also served as the Dean of the Math, Engineering and Drafting department. I love teaching and I am always looking for innovative ways to engage students and excite them about mathematics. I currently use ALEKS with College Algebra, Statistics and Trigonometry courses. I also use Top Hat an all-in-one platform that allows students to engage with one another through Top Hat community and with me.
