About me... I am currently in my 23rd year teaching Community College math and in my seventh year Sierra Community College. Previously, I taught 14 years teaching math at DeAnza College in Cupertino CA. I earned my Masters of Science in Mathematics from University of Oregon in 1990. My favorite aspect of teaching math is helping students succeed. I enjoy teaching a variety of classes ranging from basic arithmetic to Calculus. I understand that learning math is very challenging and requires a lot of hard work. It is my job to help students learn and retain the material so they can succeed in their goals. I believe the most important aspect of any math class is doing the homework, asking questions and re-doing the homework. Students must have adequate time in their schedule to finish all assigned homework. My husband and I have three awesome kids ages 20, 18 and 13. My days are full of teaching and grading and being a mom. In my rare but spare time I enjoy quilting and nature photography. |
